Once a again the first half is a close one as Navy QB Kris Proctor throws two picks and is even knocked out of the game for the last few minutes of the second quarter. Navy shuts out its opponent in the 2nd half for the 2nd straight game. Coach Derepentigny praised his players for their dominating performances in the 2nd half of both games so far this season. Navy has not given up any points this season in the 2nd half and the Run-D is very stout. It will have to be extra stout if Navy wants to have a chance against #13 South Carolina. Coach Derepentigny has said they will be practicing for a fast start as the likely hood of Navy's D shutting out South Carolina in the 2nd half is very very slim.
Not only is Gee Gee Greene Navy's top performer this week with 245 yards rushing and a TD, he received high praise from teammates and coaching staff when he broke free with 20 seconds left as Navy was killing the clock up 24 and he slid down at the five as to not rack up the score. Great Sportsmanship from a great player.
